A Word from the Vine No. 217: Commitment to Christian Education

Alright, folks, let's get straight to the point today. This is Pastor Loren Christensen of Danish Countryside Chapel, back with "A Word from the Vine," and I've got something on my mind that's been bugging me. We're diving into the issue of commitment, particularly when it comes to Christian education. You see, it's about time we take our faith journey seriously.

Listen up, because 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." That's right; we're talking about handling the truth here, folks.

Now, here's the deal. I've seen families, good folks, mind you, who want their children to be full-fledged members of our church, but they can't seem to find the time for confirmation classes. "Oh, she's got too much on her plate," they say. Well, let me tell you, it's time we face this head-on. Christian education is no joke.

We'll dig into the Bible to understand why knowing and applying the teachings of Christ matter. You see, the content of our faith matters. It's not just about showing up to church on Sundays; it's about diving deep into the Word, understanding what we believe, and living it out in our daily lives. And when we take shortcuts, when we avoid the hard work of faith education, we're doing ourselves and our kids a disservice.

And here's what I want you to understand, friends: Christian education isn't an option; it's a necessity. It's about committing to growing in Christ, digging deep into His teachings, and striving to be the approved worker God expects us to be. So, let's make that commitment and take our faith journey seriously.

Remember, it's not just about us; it's about the generations to come. Our kids and grandkids are watching. They need to see that we take our faith seriously, that we're willing to put in the effort to know God's Word, and that we're committed to being workers who handle the truth with integrity.

So, let's get to work, my friends. Let's dive into Christian education with all our hearts, and in doing so, let's pass on a legacy of faith that's worth its weight in gold.

Thanks for joining me today.
