Welcome back, my dear brothers and sisters, to the final installment of this short, three-part series of "A Word from the Vine." I'm Pastor Loren Christensen. Throughout our journey in Matthew 21 and the parable of the tenants, we've uncovered profound truths about our human nature and the unconditional promise of redemption through Christ's sacrifice.
Today, we conclude our exploration by focusing on what it means to build our lives on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as the Cornerstone and Foundation.
Please open your Bibles to 1 Corinthians 3:11, which says, "For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." These words remind us of the unshakable foundation upon which our faith rests.
As we reflect on this verse, we're reminded that our faith is not built on shifting sands or the ever-changing circumstances of this world. It is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, our Cornerstone and Foundation. Just as the builders in Psalm 118 rejected the stone that became the cornerstone, we must recognize the significance of Christ in our lives.
Our human nature often leads us to reject Christ's authority, to grasp for control, and to rebel against the rightful owner of our lives. But, dear friends, there is hope. Christ's death and resurrection offered us redemption, forgiveness, and transformation.
So, what does it mean for us to live on this solid rock, to recognize Christ as the Cornerstone and Foundation? It means resisting the temptations of selfishness and greed. It means submitting to the loving authority of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
When we do this, we can experience a profound change in our lives. We'll find joy and freedom that only Christ can provide. We'll discover the peace that surpasses all understanding. And, as we embrace this unconditional promise of redemption, we're called to share this message of hope with a world in need.
Today, I leave you with this message: Build your life on the unchanging foundation of Jesus Christ. Recognize Him as the Cornerstone upon which your faith stands. Resist the allure of self-centered desires and humbly submit to His authority.
