A Word from the Vine No. 233: From "They" to "We": Bridging the Gap

Hello, dear friends. I'm Pastor Loren, and this is "A Word from the Vine." Today, I want to take you on a journey from the elusive "they" to the powerful "we." It's a transition that holds the potential for transformation, unity, and positive change.

How often have we heard phrases like "they should do something about it" or "they need to fix this"? It's as if "they" are responsible for solving all the world's problems. But who are "they," really? In many cases, "they" can become a convenient scapegoat, allowing us to distance ourselves from collective responsibility.

But what if we could shift from "they" to "we"? What if we embraced the idea that we, as a community, have the power to make a difference? This transition is more than just a change in words; it's a shift in mindset, a call to action.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!" This scripture emphasizes the strength in unity and collaboration. It's a testament to the idea that when "they" become "we," we can accomplish more together.

The key message here is the incredible power of collective action and community building. When we transition from the passive "they should" to the active "we will," amazing things can happen. Unity and shared purpose become our driving force, and together, we can accomplish tasks that might seem insurmountable alone.

Imagine a world where "we" take responsibility for the issues we care about, where "we" work together to build stronger, more compassionate communities. It's a world where "we" lift each other up in times of need and celebrate our successes as one.

The transition from "they" to "we" is not just about words; it's about a mindset shift that can lead to positive change. Instead of waiting for an elusive "they" to act, let's become the "we" who make a difference. Let's bridge the gap between ideas and action, between division and unity.

So, my friends, the next time you hear someone say, "They should do something about it," remember that "they" can be "we." Let's take ownership of our communities and be the change we want to see. Together, we can accomplish remarkable things, and in our unity, we'll find strength, purpose, and a brighter future for all.
