A Word from the Vine No. 251: Unconditional Love Regardless of Sin

Welcome to "A Word from the Vine." I'm Pastor Loren Christensen of Danish Countyside Chapel, and in this series, we're diving into a powerful truth: "God Loves You, and So Do I." Today's episode tackles a fundamental aspect of this love – its unwavering nature, regardless of our sins.

Let's ground ourselves in Romans 5:8: "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Whether your struggle is with alcoholism, drug abuse, or any other form of sin, God's love remains constant. It's not contingent upon our perfection but is freely given even in the midst of our brokenness.

I've experienced this truth in my own life. Christ has been my champion, even in moments when I tried to push Him away. The beauty of God's love is that it pursues us relentlessly, breaking through our barriers and offering redemption.

There's a tendency among some to form a "good person committee," passing judgments on those struggling with visible sins. Little do they know that the one lighting up a joint or popping a beer might be a Christian fervently praying for them just moments ago.

In Christianity, brokenness is not a flaw but a hallmark. Christ doesn't seek the "right" people; He seeks sinners ready to repent and accept Him. If you're not broken, Christ can't fix you. It's time to embrace our brokenness and find solace in God's unyielding love.

Thanks for joining me today.
