A Word from the Vine No. 256: Living with Eternal Awareness

Hello, wonderful listeners! It's Pastor Loren again, and I'm glad to have you back on "A Word from the Vine." Today marks the culmination of our exploration through Psalm 90, and I couldn't be more excited to delve into the theme of living with eternal awareness.

Let's start by turning our attention to the words of the psalmist in Psalm 90:12-17.

"So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, and for as many years as we have seen evil. Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!"

These words serve as a gentle yet urgent reminder to live each day with an awareness of the eternal. It's about seeking God's wisdom, grace, and guidance in every moment. Our days may be transient, but the impact of living with eternal awareness is profound.

Now, my friends, as believers, we carry within us the unshakable assurance of God's eternal wisdom. It's not just for personal comfort; it's a charge to become messengers of hope. The promise of eternal life through Christ is a message that the world desperately needs.

Consider this—how can we, as individuals, as a community, become messengers of this hope? It's not just about words; it's about living with an awareness of the eternal in our day-to-day lives. It's in the way we love, serve, and extend grace to those around us.

Let me give you some real-world examples of how to do this. From my own life, every morning, I start my day with a reflection on the eternal. I spend a few moments in prayer, expressing gratitude for the day and seeking divine guidance for the challenges ahead. It sets a positive tone for my day and reinforces the eternal bond I share.

My friend, Susan, makes it a point to incorporate acts of kindness into her daily routine. Whether it's offering a helping hand to a neighbor or surprising a colleague with a thoughtful gesture, these intentional acts reflect our shared commitment to living with an awareness of the eternal impact of love and compassion. And two of my YouTube watchers, Emily and John, have a shared gratitude practice. Each day, they exchange messages highlighting the blessings in their lives. This simple act keeps them focused on the eternal goodness of God and helps them appreciate the beauty in both significant and small moments.

Living with eternal awareness transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. It's about infusing purpose into every interaction, recognizing the eternal significance of seemingly mundane moments. Whether it's a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand, these small acts carry the weight of eternity.

As we draw the curtains on today's episode, I want to leave you with a blessing. May the unshakable assurance of God's eternal wisdom be your guiding light. May you, dear listener, carry this awareness into your daily life, impacting those around you with the hope found in Christ.

And now, I charge you—live with eternal awareness. In a world that often blinds us to the eternal, be a beacon that illuminates the path to everlasting life. Until next time, go forth with the assurance that your days, though numbered, are eternally significant.

This is Pastor Loren, signing off with a prayer for eternal awareness to be your constant companion. Amen.
