Welcome once again to “A Word from the Vine.” I’m Pastor Loren, and in this final episode of our short, three part series on the meaning of slavery and freedom, we’re discussing “Breaking Free” — the practical side of spiritual freedom.
Galatians 5:1 in the Bible tells us, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” This powerful verse reminds us that Christ’s sacrifice was for our freedom — freedom not just in theory, but in the way we live our lives every day.
So, how do we live as people who have been set free? It starts with self-reflection. We must ask ourselves, “What am I a slave to?” Is it work, money, pleasure, or something else? Identifying these chains is the first step to breaking them.
The Bible doesn’t just call us to be free from something; it calls us to be free for something — for righteousness, for service, for love. This freedom is active; it’s about making choices that align with God’s will and purpose for our lives.
As we conclude, I encourage you to take a moment to consider the areas where you need freedom. Reflect on the steps you can take to break free from the bonds of sin and to live in the glorious freedom of the children of God.
Thank you for joining me on this journey through “A Word from the Vine.” May you walk in the freedom that Christ has won for you, today and every day. God bless you all.
